i break things when i'm mad
i've woken up on the wrong side of the bed these past two days. i'm not really irascible or anything, just a bit cranky and dazed--like i need a cup of tea, even though i've already consumed like two POTS of tea.but somehow things around me keep breaking. for example: this morning while brushing our teeth, my husband slipped an "eggy whiffo", so i grabbed the air freshener container and swung it around the room. then it slipped out of my hand, crashed into the bathroom mirror, knocked an antique cream pitcher into the sink, breaking off the handle. oops.
then this afternoon, after losing a scrabble game to my husband, i gave him a shove and the leg snapped off his chair (also an antique). not good.
i need another cup of tea.
Florida bites... but we bite back
well, shit hit the fan in FL, but we made it back to new orleans without being written out of the will (as far as we know).i met my parents' AWESOME dog, had some cat fights with my mom and sister, saw a road-killed alligator, heard my lil sister sing at about 6 masses (she's had a phenomenal voice since age two), purchased some guinness boxers for my husband (SOOO cute!), heard all about the woes of clinical medicine, went to the beach (BRRR!), nearly threw out my back lifting my 25-pound but only 6-month-old nephew, went to a real fish market... then made pasta with white clam sauce, gulf prawns, and bay scallops (mmm!), braided palm leaves, drank WAY too much coffee, and went to the dentist.now that's what i call a packed 5 days!
cleanin' out my inbox
but some emails are too good to "trash" without sharing!here's an excerpt:I have been doing a little plumbing because it seems the house is old enough to have clogged drains. I have to study a little - (hot-left, cold-right, water runs down hill, wear a mask, don't chew your finger nails, etc). I should be out working on the lawn, but there are these little dog mines out there. It is about 75 degrees and sunny. Feels more like summer.
Keep in touch. Dad
