edward abbey (a literary god, in my eyes) once compared annie dillard to a combination between thoreau and dickinson. i must say that i agree.

i'm currently reading teaching a stone to talk and am so spellbound by each essay that i long to devour the next immediately, yet want to ponder each for many years. so i've compromised and limited myself to one essay per nursing.

c'mon baby, isn't it time to eat again? i gotta get my dillard fix!
