ok, question:

now i don't want everyone to jump on me...this is an honest question. why are people going to vote for Bush? i mean, the only reason i can think of to vote for him (besides The Onion article "Who are you voting against?") is that he is more conservative and will hopefully get some people into positions that will benefit the pro-life issues. but people say, "ok, so we save some lives by getting rid of abortion, then HE sends them all off to war to die anyways." my instant response to this is, "well, at least they got to CHOOSE to go." but if HE starts drafting then service will no longer be voluntary. i'm seriously confused. AND what's up with everyone saying that there is all this stuff HE lied about? did he? help! i need info, but can't stomach the news. i'm sure he means well and all, but DAMN!, couldn't he like join Toastmasters during off-election years? it would sure make us look better!

also, interesting tidbit: we far-righters are always saying that the media is so left-wing and biased, but i've been listening to far-left radio on the way to work and they think that the media is right and biased against THEM!

As for the bias, read shulamite's brilliant explanation at www.waitingforelijah.blogspot.com (it's from about a week ago.) Yes, vote for Bush; no he did not lie. Just from a practical standpoint, why would he lie if he knew there was a chance there wouldn't be WMDs? That would turn out to be embarrassing. True, there were no actual WMDs, but we found mobile laboratories that were producing components for WMDs. And even w/o that, Saddam needed to be taken down and we'll be damned if we let the UN make our decisions for us. We are #1, militarily, ideologically, and morallly and we make our own decisions and to hell with the UN. United Nations? Nations aren't united. That's why they're separate nations. Anyway, we also need Bush b/c some Supreme Court chairs will be up for grabs probably in the next 4 years (they're getting old) and a conservative majority could maybe maybe overturn Roe v. Wade- it's not too late! But it might be if we don't do it soon! Plus, our Supreme Court has gotten way out of hand, citing precedents from (surprise surprise) the UN, and some hole in the wall baltic country. They must be stopped. Also, just imagine.... militant fearless groups trying to have their way w/ Kerry. He's such a sillyass he'd concede left and right before he'd even notice, and still call it a victory ("Peace in our Time," anyone?) I have a theory about liberals that I'll be posting soon.

A democrat lady came to my door yesterday and asked if I was helping them get Bush out of office. I told her that I wouldn't mind seeing that, but that I wasn't going to vote for Kerry because he's a complete idiot. I don't particularly like either of them. As for the whole war in Iraq thing, I live in an extremely military -ish area, and most of the military people I know hate Bush. This is a bad sign, when the military hates the leader of your country. anyways, I don't claim to know a whole lot, but I was thinking about doing some research, so I'll let you know.

Watching the republican convention this week, many protestors were questioned why they were present. I saw the replies of about a dozen of them before changing the channel. All of the were against Bush, but not a one of them had a reason other than that to vote for Kerry. Rather scary, in my opinion. So I've asked many of the people that I know, and though I've found many people who are planning on voting for Kerry, I have found none who could actually be considered "Kerry Supporters".

hmm. the future is a bit scary. i guess i'd rather have a slightly dumb president than a slimy, manipulative one though.
